Kim Walker
Chairman/Executive Director

Kim Walker joined Flint Academy in 2009. First, as an actively involved parent, then volunteering as a financial assistant, finally becoming a partner and the Assistant Head of School/CFO in 2015. Kim graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a BS in Accounting and became a CPA. She worked in the Energy Industry for 12 years until she stayed at home with the birth of her first child. Kim and her husband, Scott, volunteer countless hours and donate their time and money in unwavering support of Flint Academy. Scott and Kim raised their children in the DFW area, and all three graduated from Flint Academy. Kim is actively involved in her church, supporting children from PK through Youth Ministry and also Women’s Ministry.


John Flint
Vice-Chair/Founder

John Flint, along with his wife, Paula Flint, founded Flint Academy in 2006. John worked for over 32 years at General Motors in various Management positions and retired in 2009. John has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Electrical Engineering, a MS in Manufacturing Management, and an MS in Operations Management. John supports Flint Academy financially and as our Maintenance Supervisor for the past 20 years. John and Paula Flint raised five children in Arlington, Texas. John served as Co-Superintendent of elementary Sunday School, Los Gatos Christian Church, CA, Co-Superintendent of Elementary Sunday School, Olathe Christian Church, KS., and as a school board member for Parks Springs Christian Academy, Arlington, TX.


Christine Mooradian
Secretary

Christine Mooradian has been a part of the Advisory Board at Flint Academy since 2009. In 2012 she founded a sister school to Flint Academy in Newtown, PA, Greystone Academy. Christine also works for The Circe Institute as a Head Mentor in their three-year apprenticeship program designed to prepare teachers for classical schools. Christine graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BA in Psychology and an MS in Organizational Psychology, also earning a Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College in 2019. Her early career was in marketing and research, and she owned a small business, Harbor Research Systems. Christine is an active part of the teacher training at Flint Academy. She gives of her time and money in support of Flint Academy.


Melissa Vollmering
Treasurer

Melissa Vollmering began her 20th year with Flint Academy in 2026, teaching at Flint since its inception and serving as the High School Principal since 2000. Melissa graduated from Harding University with a BA in Biology with a teaching certificate. Melissa is married to Gary and has two grown children, both of whom graduated from Flint Academy. Melissa supports Flint Academy by going above and beyond as a staff member, and she gives of her time and finances for Flint.


Scott Walker
Member at Large

Scott Walker is a Vice-President at Matador Resources and has worked in the energy business for over 35 years. He has a diverse background of over 35 years in finance and business development expertise. Scott graduated from Texas State University with a BA in Accounting. He became involved at Flint Academy with the enrollment of his children in the school in 2009. Scott supports Flint Academy financially and gives many hours of volunteer time to support the growth and prosperity of the school. Scott has also been a leader in Men’s ministry positions at his church.


Dr. Paula Flint (1952-2025)
Founder

Paula Flint earned her PhD from the University of Northern Texas in Special Education, specializing in emotional/behavioral disorders and counseling. She taught at the University of North Texas in the education department before founding Flint Academy in 2006 in Arlington, Texas. Dr. Flint’s training and experience include elementary education, high school English, learning disabilities, dyslexia remediation, and she is also an educational diagnostician. Dr. Flint spent much of her time training the staff in educational techniques, student accommodation, and emotional interventions.
